Residents in Whampao with absolutely no gear, were pepper sprayed by riot police for no reason. They were pedestrians on a sidewalk, not blocking streets nor causing trouble, with elderly and families among them.

This cop just charged out of the line with his rifle to threaten journalists. Police have backed themselves into a corner with these extremely aggressive tactics.

Riot policemen have blocked Nathan Rd & raised the blue flag, tho until they did so, there were no protesters in the street and no intention to march. Police are clearly in predatory mood. We're about 10,000 altogether & surrounded on 2 sides
Hong Kong Police are stationed on every block along Nathan Road, starting from St.Andrew's Church. And some look incredibly bored. Someone on my bus commented "what a nice job, stand here, do nothing and you earn OT."
