2 week agoOn day 6 of the siege of polyu saw about a dozen protesters escape through a manhole into the sewer system this am. That's how desperate they are to leave

2 week agoSix more people left PolyU during the night, walking hand in hand through the main exit to be arrested by police. Over the course of yesterday, about 20 left in all. Dozens are estimated to remain on the sixth day of the police siege of the campus
Apple Daily reports that some of those who left PolyU without arrest but with their ID details recorded were detained when they tried to leave Hong Kong Their lawyer called it unreasonable to impose travel restrictions on someone who hadn't been arrested

3 week agoSpoke to some hardcore frontline protesters aged 16, 17 & 20. They said they'd rather get shot & die than get arrested, bc you don't know what you'd face. They joked that if the police threatened to shoot (live rounds), they'd point to their foreheads & ask for them to aim there
3 week agoWorkers are cleaning up Hong Kong's PolyU campus. Volunteers urged by China's liaison office are also helping to clear the nearby Cross-Harbour Tunnel entrance — although most take photos rather than remove debris.
3 week agoAccording to @StandNewsHK, this 16-year-old, accompanied by Bishop Joseph Ha, surrendered himself to the police this morning (Nov 20) after staying at @HongKongPolyU for six days. He told that he is also a Catholic and that he was moved by Bishop Ha.
